AMIT BHANDARI, M.D.

Dr. Bhandari was born and raised in New Delhi, India. He attended the
University College of Medical Sciences in New Deli, India–
Medical School from 1992-2002 where he received a M.B.,B.S. and Master
of Surgery (General Surgery). Dr. Bhandari’s Internal Medicine
Internship and Residency programs were completed at Resurrection
Westlake Hospital Internal Medicine Program in Melrose Park, Illinois

DALLAS A. CARTER, M.D. Family Practice
Dr. Carter graduated with honors from the University of Oregon in 1982.
He received both his medical degree and his Master's Degree in
Physiology from the Oregon Health Sciences University in 1987. He
continued his studies in a Family Practice Residency in Madison,
Wisconsin. After graduating from residency, he became Board Certified
in Family Practice and spent two years in private practice in Madison.

Dr. Cherry was born in Rangoon (Yangon), Burma (Mayanmar). She began
her medical education at the Institute of Medicine I in Lamaddaw,
Rangoon, Burma, 1979-1985. She has been in the US since 1994 at All
Children's Hospital University of South Florida as an Associate in
Research, Department of Pediatrics. From May 1997 to August 2000 she
did a Residency in Internal Medicine at Canton Medical Education
Foundation, Canton, OH. From September 2002 to November 2002 she
completed a Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Indiana University,
Indianapolis, IN. Her membership in professional societies includes:
American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association,
American Society of Hematology, Oregon Medical Association, and Burma
Medical Council, Department of Health, Rangoon, Burma. Dr. Cherry began

Dr. Cook received a degree in Microbiology in 1990 from Oregon State
University in Corvallis, Oregon. Dr. Cook received a Masters in Science
Degree in Pathology in 1994 and was awarded his Medical Degree in 1994
from Fich University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School,
North Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Cook completed is Residency at the
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa in 1977. He
attended University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver,
Colorado where he completed his Oncology requirements in 1999 and his
Hematology requirements in 2000. Dr. Cook is board certified through

Audrey was born in Medford, OR. Thomas Jefferson University School of Graduate Studies in 1974. He
completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein

Dr. Kusuda was born in Newark, New Jersey. He received a B.E.S. in Bioengineering in 1977 from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his MD at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He then completed his urology internship & residency at Oakland Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA. Dr. Kusuda also completed a urologic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He completed his military career in the US Navy in Chesapeake, Virginia and served from 1981 through 2007 when he retired with the rank of Captain. He is board certified through the American Board of Urology , a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American Urological Association, American Association of Clinical Urologists, Society of Government Services Urologists, and the Oregon Medical Association.

Dr. Larson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He entered Colorado
State University in 1979 and was the top graduate in the College of
Natural Sciences when he received his Bachelor of Science degree in
Biology in 1983. He received his medical degree in 1987 from St. Louis
University Medical School. Dr. Larson completed a five-year General
Surgery residency in June 1992 at the University of Kansas in Kansas
City. His training included general, vascular, thoracic, and
laparoscopic surgery with a special emphasis in vascular surgery. |

He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons. He performs all facets of general surgery
with special interest in vascular surgery, thoracic surgery and complex
laparoscopic procedures (including gastroesophageal reflux surgery and
bariatric surgery).
Dr. Larson and his wife and son live in North Bend. His
hobbies include running, backpacking and kayaking. Dr. Larson joined
Dr. Massey and Dr. Keizer in the Department of Surgery at North Bend
Medical Center in July 1992.

Basil Pittenger, M.D. was born in

continued his education there from 1995 to 1997, majoring in Biochemistry.
He attended medical school at the University of Washington and received his
medical degree there in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship
in 2002 and his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of

STEVEN G. SHIMOTAKAHARA, M.D. Otolaryngology
Dr. Shimotakahara comes to North Bend Medical Center from Johns
Hopkins University Hospital where he was on faculty in the Department
of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. After receiving his
medical degree from McGill University in Montreal in 1978, he completed
an internship at the Toronto General Hospital and a year of Internal
Medicine at the Montreal General Hospital. He then spent five
years in family practice in rural Nova Scotia.

Frances Shireman, M.D. was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Shireman completed her B.A.M.D. Degree at the University of
Missouri School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. She is Board
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Shireman
is a member of the American College of Physicians/ASIM and the Oregon
Medical Association. Dr. Shireman started her Internal Medicine

Dr. Shulsinger received his B.A. in psychology from Brooklyn

Dr. Somera was born and raised in Mandaluyong, Rizal, Philippines. She
received her undergraduate education, at the University of the
Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines, 1991-1995 where she
received a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Psychology. Her Medical
School and Clinical Clerkship education was from 1995 – 1999 at
University of Santo Tomas, Espana, Manila Philippines where she
received her Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. Her Post-Graduate
Internship program was from 1999-2000 at Cardinal Santos Medical Center
in San Juan, Metro Janila, Philippines. Dr. Somera completed her
Internal Medicine Residency Training from 2002 to 2005 at the Southern
Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. Dr.
Somera joined North Bend Medical Center in November 2005. |

Dr. Tersigni received his undergraduate degree in Italian from
Brigham Young University. He spent two years in Northern Italy
doing mission work for the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day
Saints and is fluent in Italian. Dr. Tersigni received his
medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He
came to this area from the University of Kansas Medical Center where he
spent five years as a Resident in General Surgery. His practice
focuses on general vascular and thoracic surgery.

He received his MD at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS and completed his Internship in General Surgery in 2003 at University of California San Francisco-East Bay Program in Oakland, CA and his Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, CA in 2007. He is Board Eligible in March 2008 through the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Webster is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, California Medical Association, East Bay Surgical Society, American Medical Association and Oregon Medical Association. |
