Heather received a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Linfield College, McMinnville Oregon in 1992. She received her Bachelors of Nursing degree 1n 1995 from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio and her Masters of Nursing Certificate of Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 1997-Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors.

Alice received her diploma in Nursing in 1968 from Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing in New York, New York. Alice attended Humbolt State University, Arcata, California from 1971-1972 where she completed courses in Nutrition and General Studies. She received her Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery in 1978 from the College of Allied Health Care Professions at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, and completed a Master of Public Health in 1989 at Columbia University School of Public Health, Center for Population and Family Health, New York, New York.
